April 15, 2020

Good afternoon Tintic School District Community,
I hope this update finds you all doing well and staying safe! Each day that this crisis continues, I am lifted up by the amazing acts of kindness and sacrifice that continue to occur and for the extended efforts put forth by our parents, grandparents, students and educators. Please continue to share the positive posts on social media! It is a great way to lift others up!
Thank you to our amazing teachers and staff for connecting with our students and their efforts to reach out to students and parents. A big shout out to our parents and guardians as well! Your efforts to support your children are so important and are making a significant impact. As many of you are aware, Governor Herbert and State Dickson announce yesterday that distance learning will continue through the end of this school year.
The earliest students will be able to come back to school buildings is this Fall (August). I know this creates a number of questions of which the district will work to address as soon as we are back from Spring Break. Thank you parents, teachers, staff and students for your commitment to education.
Stay safe and be well.

Dr. Kodey S. Hughes, Ed.D

GRAB & GO MEAL TIME
In order to increase efficiency with our Grab & Go Meal service, we remind you of our operation times 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM. Please spread out during these times as much as possible to ensure appropriate social distancing.

SCHOOL FACILITIES CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC STARTING MONDAY
Starting Monday, March 30th, we ask that school doors remain locked and not open to the public. Of course, employees will continue to access the building. If a student needs something from inside the school, the parent should call the front office and an employee can retrieve the item. Then, the student or parent should come to the school during the "Grab & Go" meal service where they will pick up the requested item.

pdfGovernor Announcement of School Dismissal

Two Week Student Dismissal

March 2020 Tintic School District

In line with the newly announced guidance from the Statewide Coronavirus Taskforce, Tintic School District will immediately implement a districtwide two-week student dismissal.

This is NOT a closure. These are preventative measures to help reduce the spread of disease. This recommendation will continue to be evaluated and further adjustments could be made with ongoing guidance from state and local health officials.

Effective immediately, students will be dismissed from daily attendance through March 27. During this time, students will not report to school, but facilities will remain open. School will continue on a digital and distance platform.

Monday, March 16, teacher will prepare to teach on the new platform.

Tuesday, March 17, will be a day for students to come to campuses on a scheduled basis in order to collect Chromebooks and needed textbooks.

Wednesday, March 18 schools will initiate digital and distance instruction.

Digital and hardcopy learning modules will be made available to students. Students will not be required to come to campus once digital and distance learning is initiated on Wednesday, March 18.

As always, the expectation is that students will be accountable for the work assigned and we ask parents to work with their teachers and children through this very non-traditional instructional platform. Assignment turn-ins, retakes, etc. will be coordinated with teachers through Google Classroom, email or phone (please do not text teachers).

Grab and Go lunches will be provided to ALL K-12 students between the hours of 12:00pm – 12:30pm. These will be available Monday, March 16 through Thursday, March 26 at Eureka Elementary School parking lot. Click here for more information on school lunch. Students will not be able to eat their meals on campus.

  • All other additional school-sponsored activities are canceled for the next two weeks. This includes extra-curricular activities and other sports practices.
  • There will be NO supervision on school property, including playgrounds and play fields.
  • Student internships and streamed college courses are canceled for the next two weeks.
  • District Fitness Center is Closed.
  • ALL Adult Education Courses are canceled.
  • ALL preschool classes are canceled.

We recognize that this has been a tumultuous few days. As always, our decisions are made with the expertise and guidance of State and County Health Departments and we will continue to keep you up to date as this dynamic situation unfolds. Thanks for your ongoing patience and support as we work to keep our students and employees safe.
