- CORE GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
To graduate and earn a high school diploma in the Tintic School District, each student must satisfy the following requirements in addition to the credits required by Tintic Board Policy (EHA).
- CITIZESHIP REQUIREMENTS
Each student must earn and maintain a minimum thirty-one units of credit. The citizenshipgrading will be as follows:
- H=Honors 1/4 credit perclass per quarter
- S=Satisfactory 1/4 credit perclass per quarter
- N=NeedsImprovement 1/4 credit perclass per quarter
- U=Unsatisfactory No credit earned
- DISCLOSURE DOCUMENT
Students will be given a citizenship grade in each class. Each teacher at the beginning of each course will state the expected behaviors clearly defining behavior that is considered as “needs improvement” or that is “unsatisfactory.” This expectation will also be part of the Disclosure Document for each class and must be signed by the student and the parent/guardian.
- REQUIRED STUDENT PERFORMANCE
The citizenship grade will be determined by student performance in the following areas:
- Participation in class
- Student adherenceto all rules
- REDMEDIATION OF UNSATISFACTORY CITIZENSHIP
At least nine (9) weeks prior to the end of the school year, students who still have a “U” in any class will be notified that graduation is in jeopardy. The parent(s) and the student must meet with the Principal to establish a written citizenship remediation program designed to make-up the “U.”
- GRADE 7 AND 8 EXCLUSION
Students in grades 7 and 8 will not earn citizenship credit towards high-school graduation.
